Welcome to The In-House Edition!

Our economy and the way we work is changing. The COVID-19 pandemic has upended our daily reality in the most dramatic, sudden and unforeseen ways. This has been extremely unsettling but, at the same time, it has provided all of us with the opportunity to rise to new challenges and reshape our future. Now, more than ever, our organizations need us to be the leaders we were meant to be, providing sound advice and strong business guidance as we move beyond the pandemic and enter the recovery phase.

As the leading voice for Canada’s in-house legal profession, we at the CCCA are also adapting and reshaping our service offering to you, our valued members. We have decided to tailor our approach to help you where you need it most, connecting you with your colleagues to learn from each other and celebrate our individual and collective accomplishments together. In short, we are strengthening the in-house community and increasing the visibility of CCCA like never before.

This new platform, The In-House Edition, is one result I am very proud to share. We have taken our flagship member publication and turned it virtual. Now we can provide more timely and relevant content written by in-house counsel and subject matter experts for the in-house community. I encourage you to browse the site, connect with authors, and contribute your ideas and expertise. This your resource for learning, sharing and networking with peers from across Canada.

Also check out CCCA’s new webinar series, In the House with In-House, where we explore the key issues legal departments are facing and how your colleagues are overcoming them. These are short webinars where in-house lawyers share real-life experiences in various industries and sectors as they discuss the new reality of work, life and family in the post-pandemic world.

We have also moved our Business Leadership Program for In-House Counsel, offered in conjunction with the Rotman School of Management, online in the fall. The program was adapted to a virtual format that maintains the features of the in-person program, including opportunities for networking and collaboration, which means you can complete it and earn your CIC.C from your home, without having to budget travel time and cost.

And that’s not all! We will have many more new initiatives to announce over the coming months. Check out the announcements on The In-House Edition home page, follow us on LinkedIn or Twitter, watch the CCCA website and look for our regular emails. We also welcome your ideas and feedback at ccca@ccca-cba.org.

Join us on this transformative journey through learning, sharing and connecting. Together, we will thrive in the face of unprecedented challenges and build a stronger tomorrow.
